KVCC Northeast RTP Launches Training Program for Instructors

January 8th, 2013

Beginning in 2013, KVCC will offer a two-year (2013-14) training program for faculty throughout the seven state region of New England and New York.  As the Northeast Provider of Solar Instructor Training, KVCC will establish relationships with career and technical high schools, community colleges, baccalaureate institutions, trade apprenticeship and union training programs that have existing training programs in electrical technology; construction management/building technology; engineering and architecture.

In 2012, Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to provide solar photovoltaic (PV) training to instructors across the Northeast United States.

The primary goal of this project is to help facilitate and support the creation of a well-trained and highly qualified solar energy workforce to meet the projected needs of the solar industry.

Application materials will be released on January 21, 2013 and more information on this exciting opportunity can be found at: http://www.kvcc.me.edu/Pages/Energy-Services-Center/SITN
